A PENSIONER who died at a popular tourist spot has been named.
Terence Ivan Roberts, of Corwen Close, Connah’s Quay, was killed when his car went over a bank on a hill in the Clwydian Range on Thursday night.
A post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday at Glan Clwyd Hospital and the cause of death has been deferred to an inquest, which will be set for a later date.
The 73-year-old was involved in the fatal accident which occurred below the top car park on Moel Famau – the highest hill in the range. Mr Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency services went to the scene shortly after 9pm after reports a dark blue Rover had left the road and gone down the 50ft bank.
Police, fire and ambulance crews attended, along with North East Wales Search and Rescue Team (NEWSAR)
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101 quoting reference number P120530.
