Hundreds of homes had their electricity cut this afternoon after a tree touched a power line.

Five hundred homes near Denbigh were cut off at around 2pm after the incident at Hafod-y-Green.

However homes were back on within an hour after Scottish Power engineers arrived onside to carry out repairs.

A spokesperson for Scottish Power said: "We had about 500 customers affected by a power cut at 2pm this afternoon caused by a tree touching the line near Hafod-y-Green.

"Everyone was back on supply within the hour and repairs carried out.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
