Standing room only at cathedral for funeral of man who saved St Brigids

The Cathedral in St Asaph was filled to the brim for the funeral of former County architect, show yard director for the Denbigh and Flint and chair of the St Brigid’s Trust Philip Eyton-Jones. Mr Eyton-Jones died in November after a short illness aged 77. The funeral took place on November 27.

Drugs dogs search Denbigh High

Police with sniffer dogs have searched Denbigh High School as part of a drive to clamp down on drugs use in the town. Parents were sent a letter confirming the police visit, with acting headteacher Dr Paul Evans stressing that no drugs were found.

Two schoolgirls indecently assaulted in Ruthin

Police are appealing for information after two schoolgirls were indecently assaulted in Ruthin. The latest incident happened at around 5pm on Monday December 4 when a 14-year-old girl was exiting Ruthin School grounds heading towards Mold Road. She was grabbed from behind and indecently assaulted.

Developer accused of abandoning estate

An AM and a Councillor have accused a developer of effectively abandoning ahousing estate leaving residents in uncertainty and confusion. The Glasdir Estate in Ruthin which was flooded shortly after being built in 2012, is being built by developer Taylor-Wimpey.

Ruthin welcomes in the festive season with Christmas lights switch-on

Ruthin was awash with colour after the town’s Christmas lights were turned on on Saturday, with people from the town itself and beyond turning out in their hundreds. The lights were turned on at 5pm after the town had already been brought to life with stalls from 10am, and the parade of decorated trucks and vans.

Santa to visit Ruthin

Sion Corn will be visiting children around Ruthin and the surrounding villages from November 30th this year. The big man himself leaves his grotto every evening at 5pm prompt and tries to get around before all the children go to bed.
