FEARS over the sudden closure of the Ponderosa café near Llangollen have been allayed, with the reason for the closure being blamed on Storm Erik
A statement released online on Saturday regarding the sudden closure led to many people commenting on the future of the café.
A similar statement regarding the closure citing ‘circumstances beyond the café’s control’ was posted the following day further fuelling the rumours.
But later that day an updated statement was posted, announcing that the café would once again open as usual.
The café’s owner, Simon Clemence has since revealed that the closure was on health and safety grounds, putting to rest any fears over the café’s future.
Mr Clemence said: “Just want to say a massive thank you to our amazing loyal customers and our motorcycle family. The support the Cafe has received has truly been overwhelming.
“Storm Erik really hit us hard last week but thanks to some amazing people we are back up and running. Once again thank you.
“We closed the café on health and safety grounds, as Storm Erik was causing damage to some of the structures, guttering and the like.
“The business is going from strength to strength, so there are no worries on that side, but I appreciate people wanting to know how we’re getting on.”
