EMERGENCY services were called to a fire caused by a "group of ten" having a barbecue.
Police and the fire service were called to Riverside Park in Llangollen shortly after 5pm to the incident.
It had been sparked by a group of ten individuals having a barbecue, with a fire sparking which spread to a nearby bench.
A witness of the incident, wishing to remain anonymous, said: "The bench has been ruined but I just want to say well done to North Wale Police and the fire service for acting so promptly and professionally to deal with the incident."
A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "A call came in at 5.05pm on Sunday from police for us to come and extinguish a small barbecue fire.
"It had been started by a group of ten people and one crew from Llangollen was sent to the incident."
