A SELFLESS eight-year-old from Denbighshire has raised £459.50 for NHS staff by selling some of her toys.
Seren Hughes, who is from Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd near Ruthin, raised the money through several generous donations from family, friends and neighbours.
They Ysgol Llanfair DC pupil decided to donate all the money raised to Cadwch Curiadau/Keep The Beats - a dedicated fund within The North Wales NHS charity, Awyr Las, which provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds.
Keep The Beats is run by frontline staff and cardiac patients, who understand better than anyone else that spending a little extra money on a service can make a huge difference.
The charity says it wants everyone in North Wales to understand how to perform basic CPR and operate a defibrillator, as it’s the only way to re-establish the hearts natural heart beat and help save lives.
Speaking about her fundraising efforts, Seren's mum Carol said: "Myself and my husband Bryn are very and all of her family are very proud of Seren, not only for thinking of the idea of raising money by selling her toys herself, but also for raising such a great amount of money for the NHS.
"Seren you really are our very caring and kind shining star."
A spokesperson for Cadwch Curiadau/Keep The Beats added: "Thank you Seren. what an amazing, caring little lady you are.
"What's even more amazing is that she has decided to donate the proceeds to our new project "Carafan Calon Lan", which we will explain more about that later this week."
