CUTE six-year-old twins Lucas and Noah had their parents in hysterics after appearing on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

The youngsters met the Geordie duo, who had been transformed into pandas to prank some unsuspecting children.

The filming was carried out at Hamley's in London.

Enjoying a teddy bears picnic, the twins couldn't help but smile when the 'magical pandas' began to speak.

When Ant and Dec said to the boys 'we are going to come and live with you' the Lucas and Noah replied: "But we'll need to tell my mummy and daddy and they don't like polar bears."

The pandas replied: "We don't like polar bears either" putting the lads at ease and they excitedly put their thumbs down shouting 'boooooo!'.

David Parry, 30, who is originally from Rhyl but has lived in Stoke-on-Trent for 15 years, said: "The filming took place in October 2020.

"We went down the night before and stayed in a hotel as it was still all a surprise and the boys only thought they were going for a teddy bears picnic as ITV asked us not to tell them so they couldn't click on to what was happening. We stood back stage whilst the boys were taken behind a curtain for filming.

"We stood with headphones on and we were watching them on a TV screen being recorded. This is when we really couldn't stop laughing.

"It was great to see our boys come out with their own personalities and oh my gosh the part where Noah said about the polar bears, we were in hysterics."

David is married to Erica, 31. David was diagnosed with crohn's disease in September 2019. The couple were delighted they had been able to do something special for the boys.

The ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity was given to the Whitfield Valley Primary school pupils after Erica saw an advert calling for siblings or twins for the show on social media.

David added: "We had to send a video of their personalities over to the ITV team which then went to a panel to narrow the applicants down. The boys were then selected for the next stage which involved someone calling on a Zoom chat.

"I was diagnosed with crohns disease in September 2019 after being in hospital for several weeks. I had to have ileostomy bag fitted which the boys found hard at first.

"After the operation I wasn't able to do the same things we used to do, that's why when Erica (mum) saw the opportunity, she thought it would be good because the boys have always liked singing , dancing. They are like born performers."

David and Erica kept the tv appearance a surprise; the boys didn't know they were going to appear on tv until 4.30pm on Saturday, February 27.

"We joined the virtual wall of the show which went live at 6.30pm," David said.

"It was a great experience for the boys to see themselves on the TV and they loved that Ant and Dec had sent them Panda teddies and also Adopted a Panda for them both. They have watched it back nearly everyday since as well."

David explained that Lucas and Noah started recognising Ant and Dec more when I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! came to Gwyrch Castle in Abergele in 2020.

"We brought them to see the castle where I used to hang around as a child," David said.

"They have become very fond of them. Noah and Lucas said on BBC radio this morning 'we are the new Ant and Dec but we are not changing our names'.

"The whole experience injected a massive light into our family. #

"I have been so poorly for the last two years so it was a treat for the boys.

"They loved being involved in it all and it was great how they got us involved on the virtual wall on the night, as in normal circumstances we would of been invited to the show."

David said he was 'born and bred' in Rhyl and Erica was born in Stoke-on-Trent.

"My parents [Anne Edwards and Dave Parry] and two sisters and brother all still live in Rhyl," he added.

"I moved to stoke 15 years ago and in normal circumstances we visit the family every weekend.

"We also have our caravan in Rhyl but due to the current situation, this is not useable."
