DENBIGH'S fireworks has been cancelled for the second year running.
In 2020, the annual event was called off due to the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Now, following a full meeting of Denbigh Town Council (DTC) on Wednesday September 22, it has been decided that this year's fireworks display will also be cancelled.
The biggest reason for doing so, DTC officials say, came down to 'safety' concerns for residents.
A statement from DTC added: "It is with great disappointment that I advise that this year’s event will not be going ahead.
"The decision was not taken lightly. The town councillors had to take into consideration the advice received from their Health & Safety Consultant, Fireworks provider, CADW as well as the up to date instructions from the Welsh Government.
"Whilst this is a disappointment for the residents and visitors to Denbigh the town councilors felt that the safety of the Councilors, Staff and volunteers was paramount.
"Very much hope that we are able to hold the event safely in 2022."
