THE North Wales Walled Towns Trail Car Run proved to be popular once more - and as usual set off from Denbigh.

The event features lovingly restored vehicles from yesteryear and attracts car enthusiasts from all over North Wales and beyond.

And, despite worries of a fuel shortage due to last week's panic buying, the event was a success.

Starting from the Denbigh Town Council car park, the first cars were waved off by Mayor Cllr Rhys Thomas at 9.15am on Sunday.

The vehicles then made their way towards Conwy before taking a trip over to Beaumaris on Anglesey.

They then arrived in the final destination of Caernarfon for judging to take place at around 2.30pm ahead of the prize giving ceremony.

Car enthusiasts gathered to show off their motors as well as take pictures of some the others on display at the event.

Displayed on the day were cars such as a 1931 Rolls Royce, E-type Jaguars, Mini Coopers and a range of British Classics from as far back as the 1920's.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Thank you so much to everyone involved, volunteering and attending today. Hopefully next year will be easier to arrange without a pandemic and fuel shortages. Beautiful cars as always and we hope to see you all again next year.”
