DURING the Summer term the Head Boy and Head Girl at Ysgol Cefn Meiriadog, St Asaph wrote a letter, asking for donations to improve their school playground.
Following very generous donations from Tayna Batteries, Phoenix Optical Technologies Ltd, Peake Caravans Ltd, Qioptic, parents and the community the school has been able to have the old playground markings removed in preparation for the new.
Frith Rugs, Bodelwyddan received the children's letter and offered to pay for the whole playground project.
Laura Frith from Frith Rugs says; "Recently we received a lovely letter from Ysgol Cefn Meiriadog. The letter was written by two very talented and polite young children hoping to raise money to help fund their new playground. We were absolutely delighted to be in a position to help a local primary school fund the project to give the children a more enjoyable playing environment. We hope everyone at Ysgol Cefn Meiriadog enjoys the playground for many years to come!"
Laura Martin, Cefn Meiriadog headteacher said: "We are so grateful to all of the businesses, families and members of the community who support our lovely school, the children are thoroughly enjoying their new playground and we couldn't do what we do without them."
