A NUMBER of Edeyrnion groups are in the money!
Corwen Town Council has recently awarded over £4,000 in grants to local community groups in Corwen and Glyndyfrdwy.
At its meeting on November 10, the council approved grants to six community groups that had applied to them for funding.
These grants were made under the council’s powers to promote community wellbeing.
Grants were made to the Owain Glyndwr Memorial Institute in Glyndyfrdwy (£2,500); Edeyrnion Allotments and Community Growers in Corwen (£609); Glyndyfrdwy Community Enterprise (£500); Cylch Llenyddol Bro Glyndwr (£300) and Gwyl Ddrama Corwen a’r Cylch (£100) and the Edeyrnion Heritage & Cultural Society (£250).
No applications for grants were received from organisations in Carrog.
At the same meeting, the council approved a budget of £5,000 for grants in 2022/23 and details of how to apply will be publicised in due course.
Cllr Gordon Hughes, chair of the town council, said: “I am delighted that the council is able to help local organisations again this year.
"The grants will go some way to providing equipment that community groups can use and to support important local cultural events.”
