THE Kingdom of the Thunder Dragon and making archaeology interesting.
These are just a couple of topics that will be studied by members of the Denbigh & District Probus Club in 2022.
The club held its annual general meeting at the Oriel Hotel, St Asaph, earlier this month.
Julia Hughes, a former director of adult and community learning at Coleg Llandrillo, was elected as president for the coming year.
At the AGM, members present were given information about a full programme for 2022 with a wide range of speaker’s subjects, such as the Kingdom of the Thunder Dragon and 'it shouldn’t happen to a landlady'.
Some presentations are planned from local businesses including the Tweedmill Outlet, Rhug Estates and podiatry. Amongst regional history features will be Lady Charlotte Guest and making archaeology exciting.
Something that affects all members will be an insight to the work of Denbighshire County Council.
The next meeting on December 13 will explain the power of the potter’s wheel.
Denbigh & District Club Probus Club is a vibrant local association of retired and semi-retired professional and business people who meet socially every month for lunch, to enjoy an interesting range of talks and discussions and occasional visits.
The club always has a warm welcome for prospective and new members and would encourage anyone who is interested in finding out more about the group to contact the secretary Keith Lester via kl@6fl.net
