Motorists are facing a lengthy diversion as part of the A483 will be closed later today due to Storm Arwen.
Traffic Wales have announced they will be closing parts of the road and the adjoining A5 because of the weather warning.
They said: "We're arranging traffic management on the A5 Ceiriog and A483 Dee Viaduct to prepare for high winds from Storm Arwen.
"Southbound lane closures in place from A483 J1 from 2pm to support a precautionary full closure both direction tonight 9pm till 6am.
"The traffic management needs to be set out now while winds are lower. A full closure is required due to wind speeds as a precautionary measure."
The usual diversion would take motorists via Newbridge Road, but due to the landslide, that road is closed. Meaning road users will be diverted through Llangollen before rejoining the road at the Moreton Park roundabout.
Motorists are being advised to only make essential journeys.
