A NEW Vale of Clwyd premises will open its doors early in the New Year.
On the Hill, situated on Upper Clwyd Street, in Ruthin, shut permanently amid the Covid crisis - with its owners choosing to instead launch an outside catering and home delivery service.
However, the Fat Boar pub and restaurant chain, which already has successful premises in Mold and Wrexham, has taken over the site and will be reopening its doors shortly.
The Fat Boar Ruthin Tweeted: "Monday 10th of January... see you then x."
As preparations for next Monday hasten, the premises Tweeted: "Our head chef is in place, we are still recruiting for other positions in the kitchen...
"Drop us a DM if you would like to join us."
Fat Boar owner Richard Watkin said: “The restaurant was up for sale and we made an offer.
“The building is in a very good condition as it’s been well maintained but we will make some changes to make it fit with the way we operate."
He said it's smaller than his current sites, but anticipates that it'll have 10 full time and 10 part time staff in what will be a "boost for the area".
He thinks Ruthin is a good fit for the Fat Boar brand and said more sites could be explored.
“There isn’t a target to open sites but if a site is right, like this one, then we’ll look at it,” he added.
