THE tireless work of a Denbighshire care facility has been recognised with a major accolade.

Gofal Dydd y Waen Day Care has been presented by outgoing High Sheriff of Clwyd Steven Thomas with the 2022 High Sheriff award for voluntary service.

This award comes as a thank-you for the tireless work carried out in supporting people of all ages living with serious illness and disability.

Since 2011, when the twice-weekly Gofal Dydd y Waen Day Care, in the Waen, near St Asaph opened, they have cared for over 250 individuals living with illness such as cancer, stroke, MS, MND, dementia and breathing problems.
