A MOTORCYCLIST was flown to hospital after a crash on the A5 near Llangollen.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the incident which occurred at the Berwyn Bends between Llangollen and Glyndyfrdwy on Monday afternoon.
It involved a single motorcycle - the driver of which was airlifted to the major trauma centre at Stoke Hospital.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (Monday, May 30) at 2.31pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorbike in Llangollen.
"We sent two rapid response vehicles and one emergency ambulance to the scene. We were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance and one person was taken by air to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.”
The road was closed throughout the afternoon, and into the evening - bur has been reopened now.
