THE festival within a festival is underway at the Denbigh Urdd Eisteddfod.

Gwyl Triban Festival is a three-day event at this year's festival on the Eisteddfod Maes.

In January, the biggest birthday party of the century was seen when the Urdd and its members and friends broke two world records.

And as part of the centenary celebrations, Triban Festival is the biggest reunion of the century.

The Triban Festival is an exciting development, and an opportunity to celebrate all elements of Welsh culture, celebrating the best of contemporary Welsh music and the arts.

It is also a way for the Urdd to thank all volunteers and members who have supported the organisation.

The Urdd and Urdd Eisteddfod are looking forward to welcoming former members, former swogs and leaders to enjoy the festival within a festival, and all free of charge.

The Mewn Cymeriad company has been performing its one-man show Canrif Syr Ifan as part of the festival today.

Ni Yw y Byd (We Are The World) is the title of a special event in the Green Pavilion tonight at 7pm.

This will see hundreds of Denbighshire primary school children singing Welsh classics in the company of Rhys Taylor and his band.

At 8.45pm, in Garddorfa, there will be a special show of Cabarela with eight former Urdd members, and have they got a bone to pick with the judges after having a ‘cam’ (being wronged) on the Pavilion stage!

It will be an evening of singing and laughing in the company of the Cabarela crew as they share memories of competing in the Urdd Eisteddfod in their unique and mischievous style.
