A VALE of Clwyd shop is to close after over a decade of being in business.
Denbigh Chocolate Shop, which was founded by Mary Tetley and her husband Mark Young on World Chocolate Day in 2009, will close its doors in early July, with the building on Vale Street being put up for sale.
In a message on the shop's Facebook page, Mary Tetley said: "After much soul searching, it is with great sadness that I have taken the tough decision to sell Denbigh Chocolate shop.
"You will remember that I opened the shop on World Chocolate Day 12 years ago in memory of our lovely mum, Thelma.
"It has been the most amazing journey, making so many friends and having such fun selling (and eating!) chocolate and coffee. Organising parties, and events!
"Making wonderful memories which will last a lifetime and make us all smile as we look back.

"We have had some great, loyal staff over the years and even won some national awards on the way. I could not have done it without all of you.
"A heart rendering thank you to you all! I can’t say that the last two years have been easy with the Covid pandemic.
"But we got through it with all your support. I would like to say a huge thanks to the most talented Jo for holding the fort during this difficult and challenging time."
She added: "This is not an easy decision but with my increasing family commitments and work commitments I have taken the decision to close the shop on July 1 and the building will then be put up for sale.
"The stock needs to go before then so please do pop in and see Jo over the next two weeks and enjoy a coffee and chocolate.
"As a family we are not going anywhere and our love for Denbigh remains as strong as ever and we look forward to seeing you all in and around town.
Thank you once again for your love and support. It has been amazing and appreciated."
Mark Young said: "A hugely difficult decision for Mary to have made after 12 great years.
"But with her increasing family and work commitments it simply had to be done.
"I am sure most people will fully understand and the amount of support, plus positive messages has been truly overwhelming and Mary and our family would like to offer our heartfelt diolch and thanks for the kindness shown towards us."
