RUTHIN Festival has been hailed as a great success following a memorable end to the week.
A week full of events drew to a close on Saturday with the return of Top of Town following a break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Headlining the event was the iconic figure of Dafydd Iwan, who entertained a huge crowd on Ruthin's St Peter's Square.
Chair of the Ruthin Festival committee Gwion Thomas said: "We had a great festival week with several new elements, and a fantastic Top of Town on Saturday with Dafydd Iwan and his band and many others.
"We would like to thank every single volunteer who helped us, all the local businesses and organisations that support us, and everyone who attended the Top of Town event and the events during the festival week."
Other featured performers at Top of Town were Band Pres Llareggub, Alys Williams, the Wee Bag Band, Morgan Elwy, Pantonic Steel Drummers, Elfin Bow, the Denbighshire Music Cooperative and Aelwyd Dyffryn Clwyd.
Festival week started with the successful return of Ruthin Carnival at the end of June, on the same day as a staging of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in the grounds of Nantclwyd y Dref.
The night prior to Top of Town, a concert in the company of Bro Cernyw Choir and Tocsidos Bler was held at Theatr John Ambrose.
