TALENTED Vale of Clwyd youngsters have been given a funding boost ahead of a summer of fun!

Denbigh Workshop has once again been successful in gaining joint funding for its creative arts summer school.

Two grants have been secured from the Clocaenog Wind Farm Fund (£6,000) and the National Lottery (£10,000).

These donations mean it will be free for all participants to join in the fun irrespective of income.

The summer workshops are ideal for young people who would not normally have access to such activities due to the barriers they face.

The creative arts summer school is free of charge for 100 young people between the ages of seven and 16 years who are interested in drama and the arts.

Denbigh Workshop tutors are West End professionals, local artists and highly-respected practitioners in their respective fields.

Professional actor and director of the Denbigh Workshop, Tracy Spencer Jones, said: "We are so lucky to bring such high calibre artists and performers to our little town of Denbigh and work with our charity.

"This year's theme is 'Art, Mind & Soul' and over the five days, we'll be doing acting, stage combat, singing, mindfulness, craft, dancing impro, story-telling and T-shirt printing, so something for everyone."

Dates for this year will be from August 15-19 and August 22-26 at St Brigid's School, in Denbigh.

A full packed lunch will be provided for all participants from local suppliers.

The summer school receives support from parents, carers and schools in and around Denbigh.
