PERFORMERS and volunteers are determined to put on a summer show in the Vale of Clwyd.

The Denbigh Musical Theatre Company (DMTC) is set for a big return after the Covid-19 pandemic.

In mid-August, the company will be producing its 10th anniversary show with a 'Blast From The Past' show.

This will give audiences the opportunity to enjoy two of the company's most talked-about shows from the past 10 years.

Productions will be staged at Denbigh's Theatr Twm o'r Nant between August 16 and 20.

Due to the pandemic, the company has not been able to produce a pantomime or summer show for the community for the last two years.

Denbigh Musical Theatre Company's Leah Roberts said volunteers are welcome if they wanted to join up.

"It is free to join and participate and we welcome anyone with any interest in theatre, whether it's singing, dancing, tech, lighting or stage crew," she said.

"We accept anyone of any ability and have been able to integrate those with special needs into our productions so they can have the experience of being on stage.

"We accept ages 10+ for pantomime and ages 18+ for the summer show."

Leah added: "We keep ticket prices as low as we can as its part of our mission statement to make it affordable for all. At Christmas time we put on an extra show for free for those families/children who would otherwise not experience a theatre show, and what we make from one show we pour into the next.

"It's very important that it is free for all to join as it is imperative that finances are not a barrier and that no-one is excluded simply because they can not afford it."

After the August run, thoughts will turn to the festive season - oh yes they will!

"Once this show has finished we will be putting an advert out for auditions for our community pantomime and would encourage anyone to get in touch," said Leah.

"We are a very friendly bunch, who will bend over backwards to accommodate any needs!"

There will be shows on August 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20.

Doors open from 7pm with curtains up at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £12 for adults, with concessions at £10.
