DENBIGHSHIRE Council will be showcasing some of its campaigns and services when it visits a major show later this month.

The Denbigh and Flint Show will return after a three-year break at The Green, near Denbigh, on Thursday, August 18.

At the show, the council’s tourism and economic teams will be there promoting Denbighshire’s attractions and scenic locations as a destination for people to come on day visits and return for holidays. 

This exhibition will be complemented by the countryside services team, who will be promoting their work in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Cllr Emrys Wynne, Denbighshire's cabinet lead member for the Welsh language, culture and heritage, as well as rural affairs, said: “It’s great to see the Denbighshire and Flintshire Show back up and running after a two-year break due to Covid.

“The Denbigh and Flint has been an important part of the rural events calendar for many years and brings thousands of people to The Green for the agricultural extravaganza.

"It’s very much a social and cultural event, bringing together various aspects of country living to one location for a day and recognise the importance of our industry to the local economy."

The council’s social care team will also be on hand at the Denbigh and Flint Show to talk about the Make People Smile campaign to recruit people into social care roles in Denbighshire.

Information and advice will be available on the various roles within social care the training available and the opportunities for career progression with flexibility to meet individual needs.

Cllr Elen Heaton, cabinet lead member for health and social care, said: “We’ve been running the Make People Smile campaign for a number of months and we’re pleased to have the opportunity to speak with people attending the show who may be interested in following a career in social care, or who may know someone that does.

“We all know people who access our social care services in Denbighshire We have a dedicated team of professionals working in all kinds of jobs in different locations across Denbighshire.

"The flexibility of these jobs is something that we wish to promote.

"We can meet individual needs if they want to work specific hours to work around their home or family life.

"Come and see us at the showground if you’re interested in a career in social care.”
