St Brigid's School headteacher Leah Crimes said: "I couldn’t be more proud of our pupils; they have had to navigate the most difficult and disrupted period in education over the last three academic years.

"Having not only the end of their GCSE courses cut short, but receiving remote, blended and in-person teaching for the entirety of their sixth form education in between lockdowns.

"These results are sensational, especially when you consider that they haven’t sat external examinations since they were in Year 10.

"Our pupils have shown themselves to be resilient, hard-working and capable of anything they set their minds to - and I know they will all flourish in their next steps.

"My huge thanks and appreciation to our magnificent teaching and support staff who have ensured that our students achieved these successes."
