STUDENTS and teachers at Denbigh High School are celebrating a successful set of GCSE results, with an increase in the number of students achieving at least five A*/A grades.
The school has also seen an overall improvement in performance from the last set of external examinations in 2019.
The number of students attaining five or more A*-C grades has exceeded the school’s target.
Amongst the top performers are Jasmin Jones and Molly Mersino, both with an impressive 10 A* grades; Elin Wisby with nine A* and one A grade; Matthew Davies with seven A* and one A and Jake Jones with five A* and five A grades.
Other learners who achieved a high proportion of A* and A grades include Jess Frith, Ellie Hughes and Harry Martin.

Daniel Wilde, deputy headteacher at Denbigh High School, is delighted with the results.
He said: “I would like to congratulate all our year 11 students for achieving success in their GCSE results, which follows on from our fantastic A-level results last week.
“These results have provided our learners with a solid foundation upon which to pursue their chosen career paths and we wish them ongoing success.
“Achieving this set of results reinforces our commitment to ensuring the highest possible standards for all our students.
"This involves a huge team effort and I would like to thank the students, staff, governors, parents and carers for their tremendous hard work and support.”
