CALLS have been made to reduce the speed limit on a rural Denbighshire road.
Bwlch Pen Barras, at Llanbedr DC, is a gateway to Moel Famau and it currently has a 60 miles-per-hour speed limit.
However, resident Paul Dyson wants to see this lowered - and he fears there could be a fatal incident on the road.
Mr Dyson said that amongst the road users were cyclists, the elderly, groups of school children, horse riders and dog walkers.
"The width of the road in parts is so narrow that only one vehicle can pass," he said.
"HGVs, coaches and plant vehicles use the road, along with 200,000 visitors a year to Moel Famau.
"There is not a footpath, no warning signs of cattle or pedestrians in the road, no street lighting along the road.
"The residents have been plagued with boy racer types during evenings and weekends and there have been damage only accidents to fencing in the area."

Mr Dyson said that Denbighshire County Council had been petitioned in the past to ask for a reduction in the speed limit.
He added: "The residents now fear no change will ever be considered until someone is killed or seriously injured."
A spokesman for Denbighshire County Council said: “We receive many requests for speed limit reductions around the county and follow an evidence based approach.
"This is to make sure we treat every inquiry in the same way.
"We do this to ensure that our process is consistent/fair and that our resources are allocated to the areas of Denbighshire with the greatest need.
"The most important types of evidence that we consider are recorded injury collisions, vehicle speeds and vehicle volumes. We also consider other factors such as the environment.
"There have been no collisions on the route in the past three years and the vehicle speeds are already low, therefore there is insufficient justification to make a change to the speed limit at this time.”
