RESIDENTS in Denbighshire have been homing in on a multitude of awards.
A prestigious awards ceremony to celebrate the achievement and participation of tenants for the great work they do within their communities and projects has taken place in Denbighshire.
The Denbighshire Housing Awards was held at the 1891 Restaurant in Rhyl at the end of last month and it was a celebration of all that tenants and communities achieve, as well as showcasing projects they are involved in across the county.
This year’s award sponsors was Brenig Construction, the lead contractor on the Llwyn Eirin project in Denbigh, which contains the first new council homes to be designed and built for the Denbighshire area in 30 years.
Tenant of the year went to Llanbedr DC's Gwenda Williams, with Rhyl's Makayla Flynn taking the young tenant of the year accolade.
Ruthin's Gwyndaf 'Jock' Davies had been nominated for three awards and he was named as the good neighbour of the year, while Ruthin's Trem Y Foel Community Centre was revealed as the housing resident / community group of the year.
The Denbighshire Housing customer services award has gone to Prestatyn Youth Centre's Owen Evans, while Community Hwb Cymunedol Pengwern, Llangollen scooped the community project of the year prize and Corwen's Jonathan Lawton was named as community hero.

Cllr Rhys Thomas, Denbighshire cabinet lead member for housing and communities, said: “The Denbighshire Housing Awards continue to go from strength to strength.
"It’s great to bring communities and individuals together to celebrate what they have all achieved through hard work, determination and simply being great tenants.
“Day in, day out we see a huge amount of positive work going on throughout our communities led by our tenants to help support and improve the quality of life for all.
“Being shortlisted for an award is an honour for those groups and individuals and our thanks go to them for their efforts in their local communities.”
