A WHEEL-Y great time has been had at a Denbighshire site.
The Llanferres Park and Playground charity has renewed its involvement in the MTB-Marathon Series mountain bike event.
The event returned to the village after a break of six years and it proved to be a popular weekend.
Marshalling took place on the route across the Clwydian Hills and the valleys to make sure the riders across 25-75km routes had a safe and enjoyable day's riding.
Sean Thomas, chairman of the Llanferres charity, said: "We had a great turnout of volunteers for the Saturday night ride, and the major day time event on Sunday.
"Supported by over 70 people, young and old, and a special thanks are due to those volunteers that don't have children but still gave up a few hours of their time for the community, as well as several volunteers from surrounding towns and villages."

Everyone had a great day out, with fine weather for the racing, which was followed by a post-event reward of refreshments and story telling of the day at the Druid Inn in Llanferres.
Mr Thomas added: "We need about £2,000 per annum to cover the cost of running the park and playground.
"This turnout clearly shows how valued the facility is and what a great community spirit there is amongst us."
Next year, the MTB-Marathon mountain bike event is scheduled to return to Ruthin on September 9 and 10.
People wanting to part or become marshals over the weekend are urged to express their interest.
