A very good entry with 1,494 prime lambs forward to an SQQ of 221ppk.
The usual mixed entry of meat and quality but all sold and competed for.

A real mixture of cattle on the day but a brisk trade on all and topping at £1710 for a cracking steer from T & J Jones, Caergwrli.
A total of 101 heifers topped at £1425 for a 17 month Charolais from IT & HM Jones, Rhiwlas.

A lift in trade! Calf trade slightly more buoyant but small young heifers proving difficult.

RUTHIN Farmers' Auction reports sales of 2,516 prime lambs to £137 / 312.2ppk and 809 ewes to £93.
Prime lambs (auctioneer-Elfor Morris):
A total of 2,516 lambs forward on the day to an SQQ of 231ppk.
Very much on par with the previous week, with mediums at 235ppk, standards 225ppk, heavies 232ppk and overweights (55kg+) at 215ppk.
Fed lambs still the order of the day and attracting a premium from 270ppk to 300ppk!
Interestingly, same amount of lambs as last year to an exact same trade!
