PLANS are chugging along for the Llangollen illuminated tractor run, which is scheduled for Sunday, December 4.

The new Vale of Llangollen Rotary and Llangollen and District Young Farmers Association are organising this lit-up tractor run.

And they're looking for more tractors to take part on the day!

"We still have space for modern or vintage tractors that are festooned with fairy lights for the first Llangollen illuminated tractor run," said a spokesperson.

Another tractor is getting ready for the run, helped by very young farmers - 13-year-old Harvey and six-year-old Olivia Burke - both grandchildren of agricultural contractor Alan Hughes, from Garth.

Tractors will gather at 3.30pm in the Llangollen Pavilion and will leave after the judging at 5pm.

The illuminated run will be started with a wave off by Llangollen mayor Cllr Paul Keddie and the Rotary district governor Paul Dutton.

The run will leave the Pavilion and head up Castle Street in Llangollen, onto the A5 through Froncysylte, Chirk, St Martins, Overton, Ruabon, Trevor and back to Llangollen.

"We plan a short 'stop over' in Chirk and Rhyn Park School car park in St Martins for local people to walk around the tractors and for children to get their photo taken with our Santa," added the spokesperson.

"Please bring along some cash for our charity bucket collection."
