RUTHIN Farmers' Auction reports sales of 2,448 lambs and 401 ewes.
Prime lambs (auctioneer-Elfor Morris):
A total of 2,448 lambs were forward on the day with a cracking trade all through. Some 1,078 medium weight lambs averaged 243ppk and it was a very pleasing 238ppk for standards.
Lights were a little sharper at 218ppk, resulting in an overall average of 239ppk and an SQQ of 240ppk.

FORWARD on the day were 2,419 prime lambs, cull ewes and prime cattle.
Some 1,930 prime lambs sold to 295p/kg or £136/head, for an average of 232.7p/kg.
Meanwhile, 415 cull ewes were sold to £100/head, average £56.95/head, with 10 cull rams selling to £94/head (average £58.80/head), 19 prime heifers selling to 306p/kg or £1864.80/head (average 259.28p/kg) and 42 prime steers selling to 306p/kg or £2219.20/head (average 266.21p/kg).
One OTM cow sold to 160p/kg or £1488/head (average 160p/kg), one OTM steer sold to 247p/kg or £1766.05/head (average 247p/kg) and one OTM heifer sold to 271p/kg or £1639.55/head (average 271p/kg).
