A VALE of Clwyd author has carried on the work of a noted historian.
Denbigh's Clwyd Wynne has written a new book in memory of late town historian R M (Bobi) Owen.
Mr Owen passed away in 2019 at the age of 88.
Mr Wynne visited Denbighshire county councillor Mark Young with a copy of the book.
Cllr Young said: "This is a fitting tribute and the hard work and dedication by Dinbych Denbigh Community Archive team is clear on producing such an interesting and informative book.
"Well done to all those involved and please, please support!"
Seventeen years (2005) have passed since volume three of 'Denbigh - A Pictorial History', by R M Owen, was published.
This fourth volume is published in memory of Mr Owen to the people of Denbigh.
Over the years, Bobi Owen developed an interest in the history of Denbigh and became a devoted collector of facts, old photographs, old books, postcards and letters.
He published several volumes and contributed regularly to local publications in Welsh and English and was a highly respected speaker and there was a great demand for his services.
He was passionate about his home town and its people and spent many years researching and collecting anything to do with Denbigh.

Cllr Young added: "Bobi Owen was our 'local historian'.
"His knowledge of his home town was incredible and limitless.
"This volume, which follows the same format as the three previous volumes, is in memory of Bobi Owen with the first pictorial section of the book dedicated to his memory.
"We are indebted to his brother John and his sister Margaret for allowing these personal photos to be used."
Denbigh Museum inherited Bobi Owen's extensive collection of postcards, photographs, books and written notes about Denbigh.
The community archive team has undertaken the task of bringing together a large number of previously unpublished postcards and photographs for the purposes of this volume.
The notes attached to each photograph have been prepared from Bobi Owen's notes on the back of the postcards and from material written by him for his other publications. Supplementary information has also been provided by the team from other sources.
A special thank-you goes to the directors of Denbigh Museum for agreeing to fund this publication out of a legacy left to the museum by the late R M Owen.
The book is on sale and it is priced at £11.95.
It can be bought at Denbigh Museum on Mondays and Thursdays (1.30-4pm) for a discounted price of £10.
