RUTHIN Farmers' Auction reports sales of 2,346 prime hoggets to £147 / 314.3ppk and 254 ewes to £144.

Prime lambs (auctioneer-Elfor Morris):

A total of 2,346 lambs forward on the day to an SQQ of 249ppk.

More standard weight lambs about than in previous weeks and a bigger show of heavy and overweight indoor-fed lambs.

Nevertheless, there were pleasing averages in all weight categories.
