Elwyn Edwards, who worked alongside Mr Pratt, said: "A press photographer for many years, Neville earned the highest respect amongst his fellow journalists from his early days in the Oswestry area where he was born to his later working days along the North Wales coast, notably with the Denbighshire Free Press in Denbigh.
"He worked with and alongside some of Wales' most accomplished photographers, including Geoff Charles, Glyn Roberts, Terry Williams, Mike Roberts, Kerry Roberts, Geoff Pitt, Phil Micheu and so many more.
"Many young journalists will also have gained valuable experience working alongside such an accomplished lensman whose skills in attaining the perfect news photo were so evident.
"A gentle, unassuming man, Neville quietly and without fuss made so many friends on both sides of his working life and his marriage to Adele was his ultimate joy.
"His passing, just a few days before his 91st birthday, leaves a void of deep depth amongst his most devoted family and his former colleagues.
"I know I speak on behalf of all his friends when I send the most sincere condolences to his family.
"On a personal note, I know the care and attention of his stepdaughter and husband and step-granddaughters and grandson, Patsy, Tony, Fiona, Debbie and Anthony, during the last few weeks were deeply appreciated by Neville who often referred to them as 'his greatest joy'."
