WEAVING a wonderful tale was the situation for Vale of Clwyd group members earlier this month.
A truly lovely evening was had by the members and friends of Denbigh Floral Art Club at their March meeting.
Mandy Coates gave those present a very inclusive and informative talk and demonstration on willow weaving.
She took along numerous baskets and decorative articles to show off her prowess in the craft, even a lovely hat that everyone admired.
After hearing about the craft itself, Mandy demonstrated how to make a leaf, and then let all the audience have a go themselves, so that everyone had the pleasure of taking home a homemade leaf made from willow and rush.

The interesting thing for all the flower arrangers is that the leaves they produced are allowed to be included in flower arrangements that are made for competitions at the various shows in the country as they are made from plant material.
All in all, those present all had a very sociable evening thanks to Mandy and they shall certainly be asking her to return sometime in the future.
The next meeting of the Denbigh Floral Art Club will be on April 4 at the Plas Pigot Country Club.
On this occasion, Eleanor Davies, from Oswestry, will be entertaining those present with a demonstration entitled “This is My Life”.
It commences at 7.30pm on April 4.
