IT was panic averted at the last minute for Vale of Clwyd group members!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Denbigh Floral Art Club had a last minute substitution for the demonstration this month.
As the committee did not know that the demonstrator booked would not turn up until 6.45pm on that day as planned, the club had to make a frantic search for a substitute demonstrator, plus flowers, oasis, and dishes.

A tall order, yes, but as luck would have it the club's chairman spoke to Carron White, a demonstrator from Anglesey, who was travelling home from a workshop she had attended in the Wirral.

She agreed to make a detour and would call and give the Denbigh club an impromptu demonstration with some supermarket bunches of flowers and a few props from her work box.
Due to all the delays, the scheduled evening was started much later than usual, but all present had a lovely, sociable evening with a few new faces in the audience.
Carron demonstrated for the club last year, but the added attraction for those present this time was her young grandchild Logan who was with her, and acted as her assistant and handyman!
He was very sweet and not in the slightest bit nervous in front of an audience.
Carron managed to entertain the club with stories of her builders and various flower mishaps over the years, with plenty of light hearted banter.
Her flower arrangements were exceptional considering the fact that she had no time to prepare and they made lovely prizes for the raffle.
"We owe Carron a big thank you for standing in at such short notice," said a club spokesperson.
"All-in-all we had a very enjoyable evening even if it was a little stressful for the committee."
The next meeting of Denbigh Floral Art Club will be on Tuesday, May 2 (7.30pm).
Jacqui Owen, from Nantwich, will give a demonstration entitled “River Runs Through” at the Plas Pigot Country Club.
In addition, the club's annual open meeting will be held at Theatr Twm o’r Nant on Thursday, June 1.
Here, Jane Pugh will give a demonstration entitled “Chocolate Fantasy”, which sounds very exciting!
