AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a Flintshire man who fell 30ft whilst climbing near Llangollen.
Liam Andrew Hughes, of Pen-y-Bryn, Sychdyn, died in the incident on June 7.
At County Hall in Ruthin on Monday (June 12), an inquest was opened into the 42-year-old's death.
It was told that Mr Hughes, a software engineer by trade, had been climbing with friends at the Panorama walk near Llangollen.
At 8.47pm, police were contacted by the Welsh Ambulance Service reporting that a man had fallen at the location.
Paramedics on scene attempted CPR, but sadly Mr Hughes was pronounced dead on scene at 10.11pm.
A pathologist's provisional cause of death following a post-mortem examination is multiple injuries and hemothorax due to a fall from height.
A full inquest has been adjourned until a later date.
