A POPULAR outdoor kitchen van in Denbigh is set to close next month, in a move the owner said “genuinely hurts”.
The Outdoor Kitchen, also known as Chelsea’s Outdoor Kitchen, is located on the industrial estate on Ffordd Colomendy, and has become a popular destination since opening five years ago.
However, the business’ “roller coaster” journey looks set to end due to continuous increases to stock prices, especially high quality products and maintaining its high standards.
The business, which calls itself “not your typical burger van”, offers homemade burgers and hot dogs, jacket potato options, and hot and cold beverages.

In a post on social, the business said: “There is genuinely no easy way I can say this as it genuinely hurts, but unfortunately after so much thought and plenty of consideration, we will be closing down The Outdoor Kitchen on July 28.
“After five years it's been one hell of a roller coaster ride, but we simply cannot keep up with the continuous price increases of stock as well as keeping high quality produce and standards.
“I want to thank all of our amazing customers who have supported us over the years, it's been amazing to get to know so many of you personally.
“A big thank you to Howdens in Denbigh for letting us take a pitch on their grounds, it wouldn't have been possible without them.
“A big thank you to Emyr Evans for allowing us to use a room for our stock, this made life so much easier to have stock right next door, we genuinely would have been goosed if we didn't have that space!
“And lastly a huge thank you to my amazing team who have rode the roller coaster with me, and have kept me going through all the highs and the lows - it truly has been a pleasure.”
There may be some hope that the business continues under new ownership, with the outgoing owner to meet with potential buyers this week.
