A MAN has died after a two-vehicle crash took place near Ruthin yesterday (July 9).
Shortly before midday, North Wales Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A525 at Rhewl involving a Yamaha motorcycle and an Audi Q3.
The emergency services attended, however, despite their best efforts, the male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three occupants from the Audi – a man, woman and child – were taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd by Ambulance with what was believed to be minor injuries.
Senior Investigating Officer, Sergeant Emlyn Hughes, of the Roads Policing Unit is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
He said: “Sadly we are investigating yet another fatal road traffic collision on the roads of North Wales and our profound sympathies are with the motorcyclist’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“The motorcyclist was travelling in convoy with a group of other riders, and we are urging anybody who may have been travelling in the area and who may have dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.
“I’d also like to thank the local community and motoring public for their patience and understanding whilst the road was closed to allow the Forensic Collision Investigation Unit to carry out their initial investigation.”
The road re-opened shortly before 6:30pm.
Anyone with information or dash cam footage that may assist with the ongoing investigation is urged to contact police via live webchat or by calling 101, quoting reference number 23000616324.
