THE summer holidays are quickly approaching, but Theatr Clwyd, Mold and William Aston Hall, Wrexham, have a huge variety of shows to keep all the family entertained.
Here is an idea of what is to come this summer;
Y Mabinogi
Kicking things off in Theatr Clwyd's Theatr Mix is bilingual tale Y Mabinogi (July 25-26). An enchanting adaptation of the classic Welsh tale, the Mabinogion, will take you on an exhilarating journey with eleborate puppetry, immersive storytelling, and original music.
It is aimed at children aged 7 to 11, following the magic coursed through the Welsh language, fantastical tales of giants and wizards casting their spells.
Macbeth and Romeo & Juliet
Next up see the return of the much loved 440 Theatre company performing Macbeth and Romeo & Juliet (22 July). A cast of just four actors, including Panto favourite, Luke Thornton, will bring both shows to life in just 40 minutes per story.
Two of Shakespeare’s greatest tragedies transformed into outrageous, fall-on-the-floor comedies. Recommended for ages 7+.
The Adventures of the Little Red Hen
An energetic adaptation of The Adventures of Little Red Hen (23-24 Sept) follows in the Autumn. This much-loved story features a breath-taking combination of brilliant puppetry, live music and unforgettable comedy.
Making bread is hard work, but it would be a lot easier if the lazy farmyard animals got off their reclining sofas and lent a hand! Join the plucky little hen as she finds her own way to get stuff done. Aimed at 3-10 year olds.
Fireman Sam Saves the Circus Live!
Over at William Aston Hall, Fireman Sam Saves the Circus Live! (2 August). Join Sam, Penny, Elvis, Station Officer Steele and Norman in an all singing, dancing, action-packed show.
When all of his friends go away, Norman Price decides to find adventure in Pontypandy and become the star of a visiting circus. But with a tiger on the loose and faulty lights, the adventure soon turns to danger.
Pop Princesses
Get your crowns at the ready for Pop Princesses (16 Sept). A Magical show where Princesses become Pop Stars! This is a children’s pop concert with a big difference.
A musical spectacular starring four fabulous fairy tale Princesses who just love to sing! Featuring a soundtrack of top pop hits from artists such as Little Mix, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Meghan Trainor and Miley Cyrus, plus all the best songs from all your favourite films and musicals. VIP tickets also available.
Top Secret - The Magic of Science
Experience the non-stop action packed interactive magical science experiments that will capture the imagination. Top Secret is a fast moving colourful magical science show filled with mystery, suspense, and lots and lots of mess!
