AN APPLICATION to demolish the former site of a bike shop and bungalow in Denbigh has been approved.
The plans, submitted to Denbighshire County Council by applicant Alan Flint of LMF Properties, concern 56 Henllan Street.
This was previously the home of E Davies & Son bike shop, as well as a residential property.
Denbighshire County Council’s planning committee gave the proposals the go-ahead on August 7.
The demolition works are expected to both start and finish later this week; on August 11 and 12 respectively.

Steps will be taken to minimise the disturbance which the demolition will cause neighbours, as well as the dust it will create.
Extracts from the application read: “Both buildings have fallen into a state of disrepair and are uneconomic to repair and/or modernise.
“There is no asbestos evident or suspected on site and therefore it is not proposed to carry out pre-demolition and refurbishment.
“However, if any potential asbestos containing materials are suspected/found within the buildings, structures and sub-floor structures, a suitably-approved licensed asbestos removal contractor will be contacted and all works suspended until the attendance of such a person.”
