A MAN from Corwen has pleaded guilty to attempting to murder a child.
Ryan Wyn Jones, 27, of Clawdd Poncen, has now pleaded guilty to the following charges:
- Attempting to murder a 33-year-old woman.
- Attempting to murder a child.
- Unlawfully wounding a child.
- Possession of a bladed article.
He pleaded guilty to the second and third charges at Mold Crown Court this morning (September 27).
Jones admitted the first and fourth charges in July.

Judge Rhys Rowlands, presiding over the case, set a date for Jones’ sentencing of Friday, December 8, for what he described as an “extremely serious matter”.
The defendant is remanded in custody until then.
Jones was arrested on Friday, May 5 after armed police were called at 2.35am that morning to reports of a domestic incident in the Clawdd Poncen area of Corwen.
A 33-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and was said to be in a “stable but critical condition”.
In addition, three children were also taken to hospital, one with serious injuries.
