In a letter to parents and carers, the acting headteacher of Ysgol Glan Clwyd, Sian Alwen, said: "The school is to close this afternoon due to the weather.
"There is talk of a high tide within the next two hours and it is possible this could have an impact on the ability to leave the school site through St Asaph.
"The bus companies have been notified and are on the way to the site."
