A DENBIGHSHIRE wildlife photographer Richard Bowler captured the bird at a reflection pool in the grounds of his rural home.
The keen photographer, from Corwen, is able to snap the wildlife that visits the watering hole - including a water vole having a snack in a nearby pipe.
Richard, who took the photos at the weekend, adds: "The wildlife up here are such posers, as soon as I get my camera out, they are checking out their reflections.
"I constructed a small woodland pool on our property about 10 years ago, next to my bird feeding station, with the aim to photograph the wildlife that uses it. I have a hide there as well.
"About two years ago I constructed a safe access for the small mammals around the pond using some old clay land drain pipes I had found.
"The bank voles and shrews now regularly use the pipe to get some seed I place under leaves for them.
"I get a split second to get the image as they pause to check the coast is clear.
"Recently I haven't had the light to get a fast enough shutter speed for the shrews, they are so fast.
"In the past I have photographed polecats, hedgehogs, grass snakes, frogs and toads there too. The birds are constantly using the pool to drink from."
