AN EVENING of Welsh and classical music will take place.

Ruthin Mayor's Concert, on February 23 at Theatr John Ambrose, Ysgol Brynhyfryd, will feature Meibion Marchan male voice choir, Angharad Huw harpist, Sion Edwards pianist and soloists Branwen, Hanna & Cathrin.

Anne Roberts, mayor of Ruthin, said: "I was really thrilled when the choir agreed to perform, not only because they sound good, but because there will be a wealth of local talent on show on the night, which was one of my reasons for approaching them.

"I've been so lucky, because the choir, especially Huw Williams, have made all the arrangements, including getting the soloists together, it's made it easy for me, I have to say.

"I hope people will support this, not only for my fund, but the choir and soloists deserve it, and I'm sure it will be a really good night."

The event will take place between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. Tickets are £12 and are available from Shop Elfair and Siop Nain.

All profits will go to the mayor's charity fund.
