A RESTAURANT in Ruthin could soon re-open, with the site due to go to auction.
Clwyd Gate Inn has been closed since 2017, but is set to welcome bids starting from £525,000.
Since shutting its doors seven years ago, the restaurant has underwent a major refurbishment, with “for sale” and “sold” signs having previously been spotted in 2022.
But it is now set to go to auction via Blackburn-based Crown Estate and Letting Agents.
The site comprises a 70-seater restaurant, a bar area and a snug.

The agents said: “Crown Estates and Letting Agents are delighted to offer to the market an outstanding and magnificent opportunity to purchase a truly unique restaurant bar with breathtaking views, ample parking, customer toilets and space for commercial kitchen.
“With the historic market town of Ruthin within four miles, schools and clubs surrounding the business a marketing strategy could be implemented such as setting up tasting stalls or offering afternoon teas.
“This would not only bring in new customers to the business, but it would also reduce any produce wastage costs.
“(There is) opportunity to create partnerships with the local schools and businesses to cater for school discos or children's parties, or work functions.”
