AN inquest has been held into the death of a "wonderful and caring" man who was found at Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
Stephen Lee Jennings, of Oswestry, was pronounced dead at the aqueduct on November 9, 2023.
At County Hall in Ruthin on Wednesday (March 27) an inquest was held into the death of the 61-year-old former retail manager.
It was told that Mr Jennings had been found by a woman walking with her husband at the foot of the aqueduct at around 3.30pm on November 9.
Pathologist, Dr Mark Atkinson gave the cause of death following a post-mortem examination as multiple injuries.
In a statement from the family read out by John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, the inquest heard Mr Jennings had been caused "hassle and upset" by a former partner.
Mr Gittins also told the court that Mr Jennings had no history of mental illness, had not left any form of note, and had no drugs or alcohol present in his system at his time of death.
As a result, Mr Gittins recorded an open conclusion.
Mr Jennings, originally from Warwickshire was described as a "wonderful and caring father" who is "missed so much" by his family.
