RESIDENTS will be able to ask questions about how to separate recycling and changing collection during drop-in sessions.

Denbighshire County Council will hold six drop-in sessions during April and May to give residents the chance to ask questions about the new recycling system which starts from June 3 2024.

These will be held between 2pm and 7pm.

Residents can also learn about what they can and can’t recycle and how they can reduce their waste.

The drop-in sessions will be held in the following locations:

  • Wednesday, April 24 - Denbighshire County Council Offices, Caledfryn, Smithfield Road, Denbigh, LL16 3RJ
  • Wednesday, May 1 - Rhuddlan Community Centre, Parliament Street, Rhuddlan, LL18 5AW
  • Thursday, May 9 - Prestatyn Library, Kings Avenue, Prestatyn, LL19 9AA
  • Wednesday, May 15 - Llangollen Town Hall, Parade Street, Llangollen, LL20 8NU
  • Wednesday, May 22 - Rhyl Town Hall, Wellington Road, Rhyl, LL18 1BA
  • Wednesday, May 29 - County Hall, Wynnstay Road, Ruthin, LL15 1YN

Paul Jackson, Head of Highways and Environmental Service, said: "We understand that we are introducing quite a lot of changes with this new service and these sessions aim to help answer the questions that residents may have, so we hope there will be good attendance and engagement.

"This new recycling system has many benefits for residents and the county. It is better for the environment as it will lead to increased recycling rates; it will be cheaper to run than the current service providing better value for money; and it’s also good for the local economy leading to the creation of 27 new jobs.

"The project to build a new Waste Transfer Station has also created economic benefits by enabling the expansion of four local businesses on the Colomendy Industrial Estate in Denbigh.

“This is a collective effort between our Waste and Recycling Team and the people of Denbighshire.

"I would like to say thank you [to residents] as their recycling is making a big difference."
