THE roads surrounding the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct near Llangollen have been re-opened following a police incident yesterday (May 30), but a search for a missing man is continuing.
Roads were closed at about 3pm yesterday before police confirmed shortly after 5pm that the incident was regarding “the safety of a man in the Froncysyllte area”.
North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service remain in attendance at the scene.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said at 1.40pm today: “Ongoing activity is continuing in the area of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct today as officers search for a missing man.
“Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance.
“Roads surrounding the area have since re-opened.”
