Denbighshire Leisure Limited have announced the opening of the nominations for the Active Communities' Awards 2024.
Nominations for the prestigious event opened up on Saturday, June 1.
The DLL Active Communities’ Awards aim to acknowledge and applaud the extraordinary contributions to community life across Denbighshire.
Residents are required to submit their nominations online no later than Monday, July 15.
The awards highlight the efforts of individuals and groups in a variety of categories.
These include Volunteer of the Year, Primary School of the Year, Secondary School of the Year, Sport Coach of the Year, Sport Club of the Year, Team of the Year, among others.
There are also categories for Best Arts for Wellbeing Project, Best Community Creative Project, Young Inspiration, Excellence Awards for both a young person and an adult, as well as the special Lifetime Achievement award.
Jamie Groves, managing director at DLL relayed his enthusiasm for the annual event as he said: "The DLL Active Communities Awards is a very important date on the events calendar for us as it gives us the opportunity to celebrate the remarkable efforts of individuals and groups who make a significant difference in our community."
He added that they are very fortunate to have esteemed broadcaster, Jason Mohammad, at the event as the guest speaker and master of ceremonies.
The winners will receive their awards at a special ceremony to be held at the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
DLL is also excited to include local artistic talent in the awards ceremony.
They will commission a local professional or emerging artist to design and create awards which will be presented to the category winners during the ceremony in November.
It is an initiative intended to provide a personal and meaningful token of recognition for award recipients while offering a platform for local creative talent.
