A BODY has been found in the search for a missing man in Wrexham, police have confirmed.
Shortly before 3.15pm today (Tuesday, June), North Wales Police said officers were alerted to a report of a body in the water at Ty Mawr Country Park, Cefn Mawr.
Chief Inspector Stephen Roberts said: “Formal identification is yet to take place, but the man’s family has been informed.
"Our thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time.
“Thank you to the local community and partner agencies who have assisted with searches over recent days.”
Emergency services were called to the concern for a safety of a man at Pontcysyllte Aqueduct last Thursday.
Yesterday (Monday, June 3), North Wales Police said as there had been prior police contact with the man - it had referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
